ABOUT RAY HAMMAR

RAY HAMMAR | SCULPTOR AND INDUSTRIAL ARTIST
Ray Hammar is a Sculptor and Industrial Artist from Gorst, Washington, dedicated to sustainability and creative reuse. A strong advocate for the Go Green Campaign, the majority of his work is crafted from recycled materials, blending function with artistic expression.
Originally from Parma, Idaho, Ray had a background in animal rescue before a major injury led him to reinvent himself as an artist. His work incorporates rocks, glass, and natural found objects, avoiding plastic while transforming unexpected materials—like propane tanks into benches and a 1908 lifeboat into a gazebo.
His art is featured at Crazy Hill Nursery in Belfair, and at events like the Art in the Woods Studio Tour, Gig Harbor Studio Tour, CVG Art Show, Summer Art Show. His work sells quickly, a testament to its uniqueness and appeal.

OUR PURPOSE
Art with Purpose: Sustainability & Animal Rescue
At Blue Collar Art Work, Ray's mission is to transform salvaged materials into bold, thought-provoking sculptures that honor both creativity and sustainability. By breathing new life into discarded metal and industrial remnants, Ray creates art with a story—one that values resourcefulness, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
Beyond art, Ray believes in the power of community and collaborates with local artists and small businesses to foster a network of creativity and support, ensuring that art remains a force for connection and shared purpose.
Ray's work also extends to those without a voice—abandoned and feral cats who have found refuge near his shop. Through feeding, care, and spay/neuter efforts, Ray and his colleagues are committed to giving these animals a chance at a better life.
Art, community, and compassion drive everything Ray does. Through these values, he creates not just sculptures, but a lasting impact.
